Food Program

LLF provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack in all of its classrooms. The menus are developed following the USDA guidelines. These guidelines can be found at the USDA Child Nutrition Programs website. We also follow all standards, policies, and regulations set forth by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health. Changes to the menu are sometimes necessary due to product non-availability. Parents are welcome to join their children for lunch (please give the kitchen advance notice - thank you!) "Be Food Safe" 2010 Food Safety Award

The "Be Food Safe" program is a two-pronged effort dedicated to increasing the public's understanding and knowledge related to food safety. It is responsible for identifying, promoting and providing recognition to food establishments within the jurisdiction of the Cuyahoga County Board of Health that demonstrate infallible practices and to educate consumers about preventing food-borne illness through four simple practices: Clean, Separate, Cook, Chill.

Lewis Little Folks was admitted in 2010 as an honored member of the "Be Food Safe" program. This is due to our dedication to the above practices and commitment to LLF to stay sanitized and safe.

Please see the Cuyahoga County Board of Health - "Be Food Safe" website for more details.
