We are excited to present our plans for our 2025 LLF Summer Camp Program! We are looking forward to a fun filled summer with your child. Camp this year will be offered to children going into KINDERGARTEN, FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, & FOURTH grade.
We have many fun and exciting events planned for camp this year! We will be going on some great field trips on a yellow school bus (one or two field trips per week). We plan to book some new and exciting trips. In addition to field trips, the teachers in each classroom will be scheduling their own lesson plans to include arts and crafts, organized outdoor games and activities, special days such as “bring your bike/scooter to school days,” cooking projects, water play, science experiments and nature walks. We also plan to schedule special presentations by LLF parents and fitness center employees such as science experiments and exercise classes.
*A detailed calendar of events and times will be distributed to parents of registered children by email in May, before summer camp begins.
Summer Camp will be divided into two classrooms. Ms. Cheryl and Ms. Valerie will be in the current Pre-K classroom. Ms. Debbie will be in the former Kindergarten classroom. These classrooms will all become Summer Camp classrooms.
BACKPACK- A backpack is needed for your child’s items for camp. (Please do not bring tote bags, a backpack that is worn on the back is best for the children.) When items are not needed to be taken home, the backpack can stay at LLF and will be sent home on Fridays.
SWIM SUIT & TOWELS - Every Monday, each child will need to bring a clean swimsuit and two towels to LLF for water play. Please label all items. Swimsuits and towels will be sent home each Friday for washing. We also recommend putting your child’s towels and swim suits in a separate back-pack.
CAMP T-SHIRTS: T-shirts will NOT be included in the activity fee this year, because children can use the same shirt from last year (green shirts). For those who need to purchase camp shirts, they will be for sale in the coming weeks. Order forms will be sent to parents. These shirts will be his/hers to keep. (PLEASE NOTE: We require that each child have this T-shirt on during each field trip. It helps our teachers and chaperones quickly identify children with our group). We also encourage parents who plan to chaperone to purchase a shirt to wear on our field trips. Cost for T-shirt: $10.00 for child, $10.00 for adult, $12.00 for adult 2X or larger. Please clearly label your child’s T-shirt with your child’s name.
SUNSCREEN & WATER BOTTLE: We plan to get the children outside for play, fresh air, under the sprinkler, etc. weather permitting every day. LLF has included the cost of a water bottle and sunscreen into the activity fee this year to relieve the burden of parents having to provide these items. Each child will get a water bottle with his/her name on it. At the end of summer camp, this bottle will be theirs to keep. The water bottle is plastic but BPA- free. The sunscreen that we will provide will be broad spectrum SPF 50. A form will be given to you to sign for permission to apply the sunscreen to your child.
EXTRA CLOTHING: Please make sure your child has two sets of extra clothes to leave in his/her locker at school. All clothing should be labeled with your child’s name.
BRIDGE BOOK/READING BOOK - Each classroom will have a scheduled “ learning time” each week. This will be a designated quiet time in the classroom for children to do workbooks, reading, etc. to keep them familiar with content learned throughout the school year. Each parent will be responsible for providing the bridge book, workbook, reading book, and/or learning materials for their child. If parents do not wish for their children to do bridge work they can provide their children with age appropriate books or magazines to read. ELECTRONICS will not be permitted during this learning time.
When the children go on field trips, transportation will be by rented yellow school buses. For all activities, especially field trips, we require that your child travel with the group. Parents wanting to directly drop off/pick up their child to/from the activity causes confusion for the staff and chaperones. Therefore, unless an emergency situation or special circumstance dictates alternative arrangements, each child is to be dropped off and picked up at LLF. Parents who need special arrangements must get approval for them in advance from the LLF office.
We are asking that each parent try to sign up for at least one trip, but we encourage you to sign up for more if you can. Having chaperones is one way that we are able to go on so many special trips. We will try to give every parent at least one of the trips that he/she requests. Because of the number of children that are allowed on the bus, there may be a need for chaperones to drive in their own cars to field trips, following the bus. A chaperone guideline sheet will be given to parents prior to the field trip you will attend. A list of chaperones attending the field trips will also be provided to parents prior to the start of camp.
State Licensing requires that parents sign permission for each individual field trip. A form listing these trips, times, and information for each trip will be given to parents prior to the beginning of camp. We will need these forms completely signed before your child can go on field trips.
Most of our activities will start at 9:00 a.m. Please have your child at LLF by 8:45 a.m. for attendance (may be earlier on field trip days). If your child will not be attending that day, please notify your child’s classroom as soon as possible (phone lists will be given to parents prior to camp).
Breakfast, lunch, and snack will be provided by LLF. Substitutions are only given for children with allergies or religious objections (documentation from the parent must be provided). If a parent would like their child to have additional or supplemental food items for other reasons, it must be provided by the parents. Because of space limitations, FOOD BROUGHT FROM HOME WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE STORED IN LLF’S REFRIGERATORS. FOOD MUST BE ABLE TO BE STORED IN CUBBIES AT THE PROPER TEMPERATURE IN THE CLASSROOM (using ice packs, etc.) LLF is a nut-free school. Please do not provide any foods containing nuts.
Meals will be provided at the following times:
Breakfast will be served between 8:00 and 9:00 am. (Outdoor activities begin at 9:00am)
Lunch will be served at 11:30am.
Snack will be served at 2:30pm.
We are working to create a safe and happy summer camp for the children, staff and parents. To realize this goal, there are three basic expectations that must be followed for everyone's safety:
Behavior that is physically, mentally, or emotionally harmful will NOT be tolerated. This includes bullying behavior.
Respect is always expected from ALL staff, parents, and children.
Damage or destruction of LLF property WILL NOT be tolerated.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a request for parents to keep their child back from a field trip or to terminate their child’s enrollment in the summer camp program with a loss of all camp fees.
Summer camp students follow the LLF Communicable Disease/Illness Policy from the LLF Parent Handbook and any additional policies that are in place. Please review this policy as it will be enforced as needed based on illnesses.
Enrollment into the summer program is open to children entering Kindergarten through fourth grade. We are planning to enroll 42 children in the camp program with 3 full- time, qualified teachers. LLF reserves the right to move children between the summer camp classrooms based on enrollment levels, age, and maturity levels.
BY ENROLLING YOUR CHILD IN THE PROGRAM, YOU ARE COMMITTING FOR THE ENTIRE 10 WEEKS. No partial enrollment will be accepted. LLF needs to employ adequate staffing and ensure all expenses are covered regardless of the number of children in attendance. Your security deposit will be applied to the last week of camp.
Camp fees - A one-time, NON-REFUNDABLE activity fee of $280.00 for each child is due to enroll your child in summer camp. This activity fee covers the cost for transportation to field trips, field trip costs, incoming classes, arts and craft supplies, etc. The fee cannot be prorated. We have tried to keep the fee reasonable, and yet offer some exciting and unique opportunities for the children.
Weekly Tuition - The weekly tuition rate for the summer program will be $240.00 per week. Please note that this fee is subject to change based on final approval by the Board. The LLF vacation policies for notification and vacation rates remain in effect.
Registration Fee/Security Deposit - There is a registration fee and security deposit for children enrolling for the FIRST time at LLF. The security deposit will be due the first week of camp and will equal one week’s worth of tuition. If you are re-enrolling your child, the registration fee AND security deposit will be waived. Please refer to enrollment information page for additional information.
Registration will be conducted by Google Forms - You will be sent a Google Form to your email address to register your child for camp. You will then have one week to pay the Activity Fee to LLF to be considered enrolled. The activity fee can be paid by check made out to Lewis Little Folks and dropped off in the tuition box inside LLF's lobby near the office window or mailed to our P.O. box:
